The Lizard Skin

The new forest was nice
Vast and productive
Life was comfortable
Fast and seductive

The lion was good
But he was a lion
There was a leopard
The lizard grew defiant

Once upon a time

There was a lizard

Who lived in a forest

with a lion and a leopard

In the forest there was

animals of all kind

They lived their lives

The lion didn’t mind

The lion was strong

The leopard was guard

Elephants and deers

Pay highest regards

And the lizard looks

Around in utter disgust

A change can’t do

But a change is a must

Alone he can’t

And the word is heavy

Who can he trust?

Without breaking a levy

One day he decided

To abandon the forest

Leave everything behind

Go after a promise

He lookded at his skin

In full dismay

Gray with black dots

It reminded him of they

He shed his skin

As he grew and left

And didn’t look back

Beyond the nest

He sought a new land

With all excitement

A new skin, a new king

May be more enlightened

The new forest was nice

Vast and productive

Life was comfortable

Fast and seductive

The lion was good

But he was a lion

There was a leopard

The lizard grew defiant

Time has passed

He was full of thoughts

He looked at his new skin

Gray with black dots
