Reunion

She yearned for his hand
In her hand just walking
In the morning breeze
Or sunset stroll talking…
He went with them
To turn a chapter
To make a change
Quarrel with their captor

He is finally in her arms
Oh how much she tears
She missed the nights
His heartbeat in her ears

She longed for the smile
His taste, his kisses
But above everything else
The hugs and whispers

Assuring and securing
Like his heart beats
And his warm breath
Made her feel complete

And each of his touches
All in the right place
Feelings of joy
She cannot replace

His oohs and ahhs
Are in her mind
They fill the void
When she feels confined

She yearned for his hand
In her hand just walking
In the morning breeze
Or sunset stroll talking

She craved his arguments
Over a cup of tea
Chatting about kids
They may not agree

She missed his muscles
Working in the fields
His lovely tanned face
And the sweaty forehead

She needed his confidence
With a cigarette on his lips
She hated it but loved it
With his strong grips

Everything about him
Make her surely flutter
Even his pure name
Or the words he utter

***

She’s been so lost
Empty without him
All she wanted was
Her life to not dim

He went with them
To turn a chapter
To make a change
Quarrel with their captor

Seeking the change
That’s all they wanted
No one was strange
That’s how it started

He was out there
Struggling with monsters
Among many he thought
But many were imposters

The years have stretched
Her fond has grown
Reminiscing his presence
While she’s been alone

Oh how she yearned
For his heartbeat
Assuring and securing
How she felt replete

***

But he is finally back
Right here in her arms
After years of longing
For his abundant charm

She wants to talk
Tell him about her aching
But words betrays
When tears are in making

Resting her head
On his broad chest
No heartbeat there
No breath is expressed

Clips of the past life
They spent together
Showering her mind
And all their blether

Her empty bed
Wet with weeping
Her vacant soul
That can’t be sleeping

Oh selfish sod
Oh helpless tears
Curling and thinking
Outcome of fear

Future and past
Are all colliding
In the moment of joy
She was expecting

But fate, my friend
Had a different ploy
It twists the fortune
In a blink of an eye
